Premier League preview and odds: Watford vs Everton
December 09, 2016 12:30pm - Vicarage Road
Premier League
Watford will look to leapfrog opponents Everton in the Premier League table when the two sides meet at Vicarage Road on Saturday lunchtime. The visitors themselves could rise to sixth place with a win.
Three defeats in last four for Watford
After a strong start to the season, second-term hopefuls Watford have faltered slightly, losing three of their last four games including their last two in a row. As a result, they have slipped out of the Premier League`s top 10 into 11th place. However, a win on Saturday would lift Walter Mazzarri`s men back into top half of the table above their opponents.
In their last home game, the Hornets were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City but prior to that, they were unbeaten in four, having won three and drawn one. They have only kept one clean at Vicarage Road this season and the game against Stoke was the only time that they have drawn a blank at home this term.
Meanwhile, Everton have also hit a sticky patch, with just one win in their last nine Premier League matches. That victory came on home soil against West Ham United (2-0) back in October. Away from home, the Toffees have lost four of their last five and have not won a game since a 3-0 triumph at Sunderland back in September.
Ronald Koeman`s men have failed to score in their last two away games and have only scored twice on the road since mid-September. They currently sit in eighth place in the table but could drop out of the top 10 with defeat on Saturday.
Team news
The home side will be without Adrian Mariappa (knee), Kenedy (knee), Craig Cathcart (hernia) and Brice Dja Djedje (foot), while Dan Janmaat (facial injury) is a doubt.
Meanwhile, the visitors also have some injury concerns with Yannick Bolasie (knee), Muhamed Besic (knee) and Matthew Pennington (hamstring) all out of action.

Betting odds and tips
This game may have been a contender for a draw but the injury to Yannick Bolasie has changed all that. The winger`s absence means that Everton`s best goal hope, Romelu Lukaku will be further starved of service giving Watford the edge in this mid-table clash.
You can back the Home Win at a decent 21/10 with Bet365.
