Premier League preview and odds: Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion
January 13, 2016 19:45pm - Stamford Bridge
Premier League
Chelsea will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games on Wednesday night when they welcome twelfth-ranked West Bromwich Albion to Stamford Bridge in the Barclays Premier League.
Stability at the Bridge
Since Jose Mourinho left the Stamford Bridge hot seat just under a month ago, Chelsea have remained undefeated, having won two and drawn two of their four games. It seems clear that new boss Guus Hiddink has at least steadied the ship after a run of six defeats in nine games before his arrival.
Last time out, the Blues secured a comfortable 3-0 win away at Crystal Palace and they also kept a clean sheet for the second game in succession for the first time this season. A win on Wednesday would see them draw level on points with their opponents.
Inconsistent Baggies
West Brom`s season has been marked by unbeaten runs broken up by defeats that have often come in pairs. The up and down nature of their campaign has prevented them from troubling the top half of the table, but has also kept them comfortably above the danger zone. A mid-table finish is surely on the cards for Tony Pulis and his men.
The Baggies come not this game on the back of consecutive home wins over Newcastle and Stoke City. Away from home they have failed to win any of their last four games, having drawn two and lost two.
Team news
Eden Hazard has a groin issue and is unlikely to feature for Chelsea, while Radamel Falcao is also a couple of weeks away from fitness. However, the Blues` striking options could be boosted by the return of Loic Remy.
Meanwhile, West Brom will be without Victor Anichebe but Jonas Olsson could return.
