January 13, 2016 19:45pm - Liberty Stadium
Premier League
Swansea City will be aiming to keep their heads above the relegation water on Wednesday night when they welcome a Sunderland side that already looks sunk, to the Liberty Stadium. Swans paddling in murky water
Swansea City are just two points clear of the relegation zone with no permanent manager in place. Despite losing just one of their last four games, the Welsh side have been overtaken by some of their relegation rivals and are now sat in 17th place in the league.
Alan Curtis` men have managed just three goals in their last five games although they have conceded just four in that same period. They come into this game on the back of a 2-1 league defeat at Old Trafford and a 3-2 FA Cup defeat at the hands of League Two side Oxford.
Glimmer of hope for stricken Sunderland
Sunderland broke a run of five straight Premier League defeats by beating basement club Aston Villa last time out. Despite the lowly nature of their opposition, the victory offers the Black Cats a glimmer of hope in their quest for Premier League survival.
They now have a chance to close the gap on a team just four points above them, by securing what would be just their second away win of the season.
Team news
Swansea City have a full squad available for this relagtions clash.
Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce will be without Jack Rodwell, Younes Kaboul, Adam Matthews and Seb Larsson.
