Everton vs Brighton and Hove Albion - Premier League Preview and Odds
January 11, 2020 16:00pm - Goodison Park (Liverpool)
Premier League
Two teams looking to avoid a relegation scrap will go head to head on Saturday afternoon as 11th-ranked Everton take on 14th-ranked Brighton and Hove Albion.
New boss, Carlo Ancelotti, got his Everton career off to the perfect start with wins at home to Burnley and away to Newcastle. But things soon turned sour following defeat at Manchester City in the league and a 1-0 loss to a make-shift Liverpool side in the FA Cup Third Round.
The latter resulted in a group of Everton fans confronting club officials at the training ground and demanding to speak to the players. The situation was eventually defused but typifies the negativity that has grown around the club in recent years.
Ancelotti will hope to lift spirits on Saturday with a win that could put further distance between the Toffees and the drop zone. They have only lost one of their last six league matches at home, although that defeat did come against bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.
Meanwhile, Brighton have won just one of their last nine Premier League away matches, a 2-1 victory at Arsenal, but have scored at least once in their last six. A win would lift them above Everton in the table and ease some of the pressure from the boss, Graham Potter.

Betting odds and tips
The fallout from Evertons defeat to Liverpool`s B Team has not been good and the coaching staff will be keen for a positive result to put all that behind them. However, a poor start of Saturday could see the home crowd turn against their team as has regularly been the case at Goodison in recent years. Carlo Ancelotti has a wealth of experience but will find his skills tested more than ever on Merseyside.
Brighton will look to take advantage and can be expected to start brightly. And based on their recent record away from home, they can be expected to score. As a result, the Draw with Both Teams to Score looks like the best option in this game. . You can back the Draw/Both Teams to Score at 19/5.
