Manchester City vs Chelsea - Premier League Preview and Odds
February 10, 2019 16:00pm - Etihad Stadium
Premier League
Following Liverpool`s win over Bournemouth on Saturday the spotlight moves back onto Manchester City who can go top once again with a win on Sunday. They face a Chelsea side who need at least a point to get back into the top four.
Citys three-point deficit to Liverpool could be wiped out on Sunday, but would leave the Reds with a game in hand. Pep Guardiolas must keep winning and hope their rivals to slip up if they are to retain their Premier League title.
They come into this game on the back of a 2-0 win at Everton in midweek which only put them on top by goal difference. That advantage was reduced yesterday as Jurgen Klopps men put three past Bournemouth.
Chelsea won the last meeting between the two back in December (2-0) and have won three of the last five competitive meetings between the two.
Maurizio Sarri`s men halted a two-game losing streak with a 5-0 home win over struggling Huddersfield. That was the perfect way to bounce back from the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of AFC Bournemouth.
Overall, the Blues have won just two of the five league matches they have contested in 2019 - both against teams in the bottom four.
As a result, they have dropped out of the top four, but can leapfrog Manchester United with a draw or better this weekend. The Stamford Bridge club failed to find the net in their last two away games and will be hoping new signing Gonzalo Higuain can end the drought.

Betting odds and tips
City seem to be back to their best while Chelsea have struggled in the New Year. However, the Blues have a decent record against the Manchester club and were worthy winners when the two sides met in December. The arrival of Higuain has increased their goal threat and they will be determined to get the point needed to reclaim their place in the top four.
After Liverpool`s confident display yesterday, the pressure is back on a Manchester City. Defeat could scupper their title hopes and they will need to score early here to ease the nerves. The dynamic of the game might suit Chelsea who will hold no fear going into this game - something that rarely happens when teams visit the Etihad. As a result, the Chelsea/Draw Double Chance looks good value at 13/8.
You can back the Chelsea/Draw Double Chance at 13/8.
