Southampton vs Arsenal - Premier League preview and odds
May 10, 2017 19:45pm - St. Marys Stadium
Premier League
Arsenal will step up their quest for a place in Europe when they pay a visit St. Mary`s Stadium to take on winless-in-four Southampton on Wednesday night.
Gunners with Euro target in sight
Arsenal bounced back from their 2-0 defeat in the North London derby by inflicting the same scoreline on Champions League qualification rivals Manchester United on Sunday afternnon. That result keeps their top-four hopes alive with four games left to play.
If the Gunners are triumphant on Wednesday night, they will move above Jose Mourinho`s men into fifth place but will remain three points adrift of fourth-ranked Manchester City. Arsene Wenger`s men have lost five of their last six on the road, a run that included defeats at West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace. However, in their defence, they also fell to the current top three during that spell.
Meanwhile, Southampton come into this game on the back of a four-game winless run which has included games against three of the current top four. Last time out, the bagged a draw on the road at Anfield thanks in part to penalty save from Fraser Forster to deny James Milner.
On home soil, Claude Puel`s men have won just one of their last five and failed to score in three of their last four. As a result, the visitors might just nick all three points from their trip to the South Coast.

Betting odds and tips
Arsenal seem to have solved some of their defensive issues and are facing a team that is struggling to find the net.
With Manolo Gabbiadini still short of form since his injury, the away side will be favourites to win this one.
