Roger Federer vs Grigor Dimitrov - Wimbledon Round of 16 preview and odds

Wimbledon Championships Mens Tennis
Monday`s Centre Court actionn will be rounded off in style as seven-time former champion Roger Federer looks to extend his perfect 6-0 record over Grigor Dimitrov.
Dimitrov has been a regular contender for the World`s top 10 places over the last few years but has never quite made that final step up. However, he has reached the semi-finals here before (2014) and made it to the same stage of the Australian Open earlier this year. At 26-years of age, he will be hoping that his best years are still ahead of him and if he plays to his best standard, he could at least cause the veteran a few problems here.
The Bulgarian comes into this event on the back of a semi-final appearance at Queens and he has been barely troubled on his way to the last 16 in SW19. In his last match, he played just one hour of tennis due to the retirement of Dudi Sela, so he should at least arrive here feeling fresh.
Meanwhile, Federer had little trouble seeing off the challenge of Mischa Zverev in the third round, cruising to straight sets win and keeping him on course for his 19th Grand Slam title. The Swiss player has lost just two of his last 27 matches and has never lost to Dimitrov in their six previous encounters. However, this will be the first time that they have met on grass.
The 34-year-old warmed up for this event in style by picking up an trophy on grass in Halle beating Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
Betting odds and tips
Dimitrov does not have a great record against the World No. 5 but he did manage to win a set in each of their last two meetings in Australia last year. What`s more, he is entering his prime years and will be looking to force his way back into the top 10 as we head into the back end of the season.
Having said that, Federer is still the superior player but he might need four sets to get the job done on Monday.
