With just three game weeks of the new Premier League season played we can now look forward to one of the most anticipated games of the season as old enemies Jose and Pep Guardiola go head-to-head in the Premier League for the first ever time.
The Manchester derby is always one of the standout matches on the fixture list, but this year, the clash of local rivals has an added edge thanks to the animosity that exists between the clubs two new bosses.
The two men have never seen eye to eye having clashed at La Liga and Champions League level while in charge of their previous clubs. This weekend each will get a chance to gain an early upper hand on the other in the race for the Premier League title.
The home side have won all three of their fixtures this season but they left it late in the last game to claim all three points away to Hull City. Prior to that the Red Devils made it past lowly Bournemouth and Southampton with relative ease. Unsurprisingly, Mourinhos men have kept things tight at the back with just one goal conceded so far.
Manchester City have been slightly more convincing having also won all three of their opening games against Sunderland, Stoke and West Ham, with a tally of nine goals and a goal difference of +6. This game will be yet another intriguing clash of styles between two of the worlds most successful coaches and two of Europes biggest teams.
Manchester United will have to wait in the fitness of new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan who is out with a thigh problem. Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard are also doubts.
Meanwhile, City will also be hampered by the absence of star striker Sergio Aguero who is serving a three-match ban, while Vincent Kompany is also still undergoing treatment for a thigh injury. Prediction
While Mourinho likes to keep things tight in defence and break on the counter-attack, Guardiola values possession and attacking flair. This is highlighted by the fact that City have yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this term but still have the best goal difference.
Even with Aguero out of action, the Citizens have some worthy goal scorers in their ranks and can be expected to find this net at least once on Saturday. As a result, the Both Teams to Score bet looks to be good value at 4/5 with Bet365.
For those looking to back the match result, the Draw looks like a good call and can be backed at 9/4, also with Bet365.
