Liverpool vs Manchester City- Premier League Preview and Odds

November 10, 2019 16:30pm - Anfield (Liverpool)

Premier League

League leaders Liverpool and reigning champions Manchester City will go head to head at Anfield on Sunday in a game that could have a major impact on the title race.

Liverpool will kick off with a six-point lead over rivals Manchester City and a five-point advantage over Leicester City and Chelsea. A win would give the Reds a crucial eight-point lead heading into the winter period.

Jurgen Klopp`s men have not lost a Premier League match at Anfield since April 2017 and only Manchester City and Leicester have come away with a point since May 2018. WhatÂ’s more, the Reds have not lost a league match at home to City since 2003.

With form on their side and confidence in abundance, the European champions will have no fear heading into this game and will relish the opportunity to gain the upper hand in the title race.

The only concern could be the fact they have yet to keep a clean sheet at Anfield in the league this season. However, they were without their first-choice keeper Alisson Becker for most of those games.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have slipped to fourth in the table following Saturday`s results and head into this game having not won a league game at Anfield in 16 years.

Pep Guardiola`s men have lost just one away game in the league all season (a 3-2 defeat to Norwich City). Overall, they have won 11 of their last 12 away games stretching back to the defeat at Newcastle back in January. And they have scored two goals or more in each of their last six away games.

The Citizens come into this game on the back of a 1-1 Champions League draw at Atalanta which resulted in an injury for goalkeeper Ederson. As a result, the erratic Claudio Bravo will return between the sticks for the trip to Merseyside. David Silva is also expected to miss out as he recovers from an injury picked up in the game against Southampton.

Betting odds and tips

Liverpool have not been at their best this season but have got results when it has mattered. City have looked impressive at times but have already been beaten twice and Liverpool will look to exploit this vulnerability.

The Reds have gone 43 games unbeaten at home and this will give them a huge psychological advantage ahead of this game. And Ederson and Silva`s absence could just tilt things the way of Klopp`s men who will have a full-strength line-up available.

No manager has got the better of Guardiola more times than Klopp and the German boss should be backed to record his ninth win against the Spaniard on Sunday.

You can back Liverpool to win at 7/4.
