Last year`s beaten finalists Liverpool will look to keep their 2018/19 Champions League hopes alive against a Napoli side whose progression also hangs in the balance.

The Reds will be hoping to make the most home advantage as Anfield looks forward to another big European night. Jurgen Klopp`s men must win 1-0 or by two clear goals to book their place in the knockout stages of UEFAs elite competition.

The Anfield side lost three European matches in row for the first time ever to push their campaign right down to the wire. However, they go into the match on a high having climbed to the summit of the Premier League table with three wins in six days including a derby victory over bitter rivals Everton while rivals Manchester City dropped all three points at Chelsea. Star forward Mo Salah also warmed up with a Hat-trick away to AFC Bournemouth.

Napoli are top of their Champions League group but could finish third if results do not go their way. They could lose at Anfield and still qualify but a win or draw would definitely ensure their progression.

The Italians are unbeaten in their last 12 matches since going down 3-1 to Juventus ion Serie A. They travel to England on the back of a 4-0 league win over Frosinone. They lost a friendly at Anfield 5-0in the summer and on their last competitive visit were beaten 3-1 in the Europa League thanks to a Steven Gerrard hat-trick.

Carlo Ancelotti`s men don`t have a great away record in the competition having won just five of the 19 matches they have played on the road in this competition and they failed to win any of their last five.

Historically, Napoli have not travelled well in the Champions League and face a Liverpool who are unbeaten at home in their last 10 matches in the competition and have netted 15 times in their last four. As a result, the home win looks the most likely outcome and Liverpool should do enough to qualify.
