Euro 2016 Qualifier preview and odds: Belgium vs. Israel
October 13, 2015 19:45pm King Baudouin Stadium, Brussels
Euro 2016 Group B
Belgium can consolidate their place at the top of the Group B table with a win over play-off hopefuls Israel on Tuesday night.
Belgium keen to protect home record
Despite having already secured a place at next year`s European Championships in France, Belgium still have plenty to play for. As well as aiming for a first-place finish in their qualifying group, Belgium also have a five-year unbeaten home record to protect. A win against Israel would secure first place and keep their record intact. A draw could allow Wales to claim top-spot in the table thanks to a superior head-to-head record against the Belgians.
The last team to beat Belgium on home soil was Germany back in 2010, although they have drawn five home encounters since then.
Israel retain faint play-off hopes
Israel`s play-off hopes were dealt a huge blow when they lost at home to Cyprus at the weekend. They now face the uphill task of breaking Belgium`s 13-game unbeaten home record while hoping that Bosnia and Herzegovina fail to beat Cyprus.
When the teams met in the first group game back in March, Belgium ran out winners thanks to goal from Manchester United`s Marouane Fellaini. The teams have met six times in all competitions including friendly matches with the Belgians having won five games and the Israeli`s having won the other.
Team news
Belgium captain Vincent Kompany is still recovering from a calf injury and is unlikely to be risked for this game.

Betting odds and tips
Belgium will be clear favourites to win despite having already booked their place at the Euro 2016 tournament. With a home record to protect, FIFA ranking points up for grab and top place in the group to play for, Marc Wilmots`s men will not be taking this game lightly.
Israel showed how vulnerable they can be in the home game against Cyprus at the weekend. Winning that game would have given them a realistic chance of making the play-offs, a task that now looks extremely unlikely.
Backing the home win will not get you much value but you can boost the odds by backing a home Win to Nil at 23/20 with Betvictor. Belgium have only conceded four goals throughout the entire qualifying campaign and only one of those goals came at home.
