Pre-season favourites Hull City will be looking to maintain their push for an automatic promotion spot when they welcome play-off hopefuls Cardiff to the KC Stadium on Wednesday.

Hull strong at home

Hull City have lost just one game at home all season, having won nine and drawn two others. That defeat (0-2) came against promotion rivals Derby County back in November. Since then, Steve Bruce`s men have won three home games in a row including a 3-0 stroll against Burley last time out.

As a result, they currently sit in third place, just one point behind Derby County who currently occupy the second automatic promotion position.

Poor away record hindering Cardiff

Cardiff have not travelled well this season. The Welsh side have managed just two wins on the road and have lost four of their last five away games. In contrast, they have lost just one game at home all season.

They come into this game on the back of a 1-0 home win against Blackburn Rovers, prior to that they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest. As a result, they currently sit in ninth place in the Championship table, four points adrift of the play-off zone.

Team news

Hull will have to cope without Adam Doimande who had faced another setback in his recovery from a groin injury. Michael Dawson, Shaun Maloney and Alex Bruce are also expected to miss out.

Meanwhile, Lee Peltier is set to return for Cardiff after recovering from illness. However, Idriss Saadi is expected to miss out.
