La Liga preview and odds: Atletico Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruna
March 12, 2016 20:30pm - Estadio Vicente Calderon
La Liga
Atletico Madrid will be looking to keep clear distance between themselves and their city rivals when they welcome a faltering Deportivo La Coruna side to Estadio Vicente Calderon on Saturday night.
Title out of reach for Atletico
With the league title now seemingly out of reach, Atletico Madrid will now have to concentrate on beating their rivals from across the city to a second-place finish in La Liga. Diego Simoeone`s men currently have a four-point cushion over Real Madrid with just 10 games left to pay.
Over the last 12 league games, only Barcelona have beaten the second-ranked side, and only Sevilla and Villarreal have held them to a draw. On home soil, they are unbeaten in 11 games, having won eight and drawn three. They come into this game on the back of a 3-1 win away at Valenica.
Depor the draw specialists
Depor La Coruna have drawn 54% of their matches in La Liga this season, with seven of their stalemates coming on the road. The Galicians have not won any of their last 12 league fixtures, having drawn seven and lost the other five.
Their winless streak has left them in 13th place in the league, just seven points above the drop zone. They come into this game on the back of a 3-3 draw at home to eight-ranked Malaga.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured duo of Stefan Savic and Tiago.
Meanwhile, Sidnei, Cani and Juan Dominguez we be unavailable for the visitors.
