Atletico Madrid vs Leicester City - Champions League Preview and Odds
April 12, 2017 19:45pm - Estádio Vicente Calderon
Referee: Jonas Eriksson (SWE)
Champions League - Knockout Stage
Leicester City`s fourth ever European knockout match will see them take on Spanish giants Atletico Madrid for the third time in their history. The two-legged match kicks off at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday night before the action moves to England in two week`s time.
Foxes looking for first win in four attempts over Atleti
Atletico Madrid may not have had the best season on the domestic front but they have maintained their form at European level. They topped a tough group featuring Bayern Munich, PSV Eindhoven and Rostov, conceding just two goals in the process. And in the Round of 16, they prevailed by a 4-2 aggregate scoreline over Bayer Leverkusen.
They come into this game on the back a 1-1 draw away to city rivals Real Madrid, a result that leaves them in third place in La Liga table behind the big two and a point ahead of Sevilla who Leicester City disposed of in the last round of this competition.
Diego Simeone`s men have won eight of their last nine at home in this competition, the exception being the recent 0-0 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Leicester City will look to pull off one of the biggest shocks in Champions League history when they begin their two-legged battle on Wednesday night. The English champions looked to be on course for relegation when title-sinning boss Claudio Ranieri was sacked back in February. However, they have since won six of their last seven matches, their only defeat coming away to Everton at the weekend.
The Foxes could perhaps be forgiven for having one eye on this clash when they made their preparations for the match at Goodison Park.
Team news
Kevin Gameiro (thigh problem), Nicolas Gaitan (toe), Miguel Angel Moya (muscular), Sime Vrsaljko, Tiago and Augusto Fernandez (ACL) are all expected to miss out for the home side.
Meanhwhile, Wes Morgan (back), Nampalys Mendy (ankle) and Molla Wague (dislocated shoulder) will be absent for the visitors, while Wilfred Ndidi (tight groin) could also miss out.

Betting odds and tips
Craig Shakespeare`s apparent indestructability was proved to be false last weekend when his team finally succumbed to defeat at the hands of Everton. However, Leicester City should not be written off in this tie.
English teams have historically found it tough in Spain (especially in recent years) but Leicester City are a law unto themselves.
While they might not have enough quality to win, they can certainly be expected to compete and could give themselves something to play for in the return fixture. As a result, we expect them to bag at least one away goal.
You can back the Home win and Both Teams to Score at 3/1 Bet365
