Referee: Nicola Rizzoli (ITA)
Champions League - Knockout Stage
Two of European football`s heavyweights will battle it out for a place in the Champions League semi-finals as five-time European Champions Bayern Munich take on 11-time title holders Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
Ancelotti out to eliminate former club
Carlo Ancelotti has an incredible record in European competition and will now look to bag his seventh UEFA trophy as a coach (to add to the four that he picked up as a player) when he leads out his Bayern Munich team on Wednesday night.
The German side have won their last 16 home matches in a row in this competition, their last defeat (0-4) coming against a Real Madrid side coached by Ancelotti back in 2014. In the last round they humiliated English club Arsenal by a 10-2 aggregate scoreline. Their last competitive defeat at home came against Mainz over a year ago. In their last 11 home matches they have scored 40 goals and conceded just three.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be looking to at least avoid defeat when they make the trip to Germany on Wednesday night. The Spanish club have won just two of their last six on the road in this competition, having won two, drawn three and lost one. In the last round they notched up a 3-1 scoreline in both legs against Napoli and prior to that, they also won on the road in Lisbon.
If Los Blancos can keep themselves in the tie, they will fancy their chances in the second leg. They have lost just one of their last 30 home ties in this event and have only been held to a draw on four occasions.
Team news
Mats Hummels (ankle), Christian Fruchtl (ankle), Thomas Muller (ankle) and Manuel Neuer (foot surgery) are all out of action for the home side.
Meanwhile, Pepe (double rib fracture) and Raphael Varane (suspected hamstring strain) are the only absentees for the 11-time former champions.

Betting odds and tips
A recent blip against Hoffenheim should not deter punters from backing the home team. Bayern are 10 points clear at the top of the Bundelsliga and will be putting extra focus on this competition.
The two top-ranked teams in the competition should produce and enthralling encounter but we expect the home side to edge this one and there should be a few goals on the agenda.
