World Cup Qualification Europe - Spain vs FYR Macedonia
November 12, 2016 20:45pm - Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes
Referee: R. Schörgenhofer
World Cup Qualification - Group G
Group G favourites Spain will look to maintain their place at the top of the table with a win against winless Macedonia on Saturday night. The action will take place at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in Granada.
Unbeaten Spain expected to dominate on home soil
The Spanish World Cup roadshow will arrive in Granada on Saturday night as the hosts look to further impose their authority on Group G. Spain have had a decent start under new boss Julen Lopetegui and are currently in pole position to take top spot in their section.
La Furia Roja kicked off their campaign with an 8-0 demolition of Liechtenstein before playing out a 1-1 draw away to their main group rivals Italy. Last time out, they eased to 2-0 win in Albania and will be hoping for an even more comfortable time this weekend.
The home side are unbeaten in their last four matches and will be facing a team that has lost their last four in a row. Remarkably, the Spanish have never lost a World Cup qualifying match on home soil and that record is likely to remain intact this weekend.
Meanwhile, Macedonia have only won one of their last 27 matches away from home in all competitions (a 0-1 friendly win in Azerbaijan). They have lost all three of their qualifying matches so far and have lost all five of their previous meetings with Spain.
However, they did restricts Vincente del Bosque`s side to a 1-0 win on home soil in last year`s Euro qualifying clash.

Betting odds and tips
Spain are clear favourites for this game, and should cruise to comfortable win. The last time they hosted their opponents, they ran out 5-1 winners and a similar score-line should be expected on Saturday.
