Getafe will be hoping to break a three-game losing streak in La Liga when they welcome city rivals and title challengers Atletico Madrid to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Sunday.

Getafe back in bottom half of table

Getafe have had an up and down season, with the highlight being a 2-0 home win over Champions League challengers Villarreal back in November. However, things have not gone so well in recent weeks, and the Madrid side are now seeking to avoid their fourth defeat in a row.

As a result of their recent run, they have fallen back into the bottom half of the table, and now sit in 12th place just five points above the relegation zone.

They come in to this game on the back of 3-0 defeat away to Malaga, and prior to that, they were undone by a single goal at home to Athletic Club.

Atletico still gunning for title

The recent 1-2 defeat to Barcelona may have put a slight dent in Atletis title hopes, but the Madrid club will be keen to maintain pressure on their rivals heading into the final 15 games of the season. They are currently three points adrift of the leaders who will play their game in hand on Wednesday night.

Diego Simeones men cruised past (3-1) Eibar last week, and will be hoping for a similar performance when they make the short trip across town to face Getafe.

Team news

The home side will be without Roberto Lago and Pablo Sarabia, while Mehdi Lacen is suspended.

Meanwhile, the away side will be without Tiago and Augusto Fernandez.
