Premier League preview and odds: AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester City
February 13 , 2017 20:00pm - Vitality Stadium
Premier League
AFC Bournemouth will continue their search for their first league win of 2017 when they welcome fifth-ranked Manchester City to the Vitality Stadium on Monday night. The visitors themselves can reclaim a place in the top four with a win.
Bournemouth edging towards danger zone
While AFC Bournemouth are in no immediate danger of facing the drop, a continuation of their current form could see them dragged into the relegation scrap. Eddie Howe`s men have yet to win a Premier League match in 2017, having drawn two and lost three of their five games. They come into this game on the back of a 6-3 thrashing away to Everton.
On home soil, the Cherries are winless in four and were beaten 0-2 by struggling Crystal Palace in their last outing on the South Coast. They have conceded at least two goals in six of their last seven home games.
Meanwhile, Manchester City can move in to second place in the Premier League table with a win on Monday night. Pep Guardiola`s charges are currently out of the top four, but with just two points separating second and sixth, there is still all to play for. A win could even put them back into the hunt for the league title, although they would still need to overhaul an eight-point gap to league leaders Chelsea.
The Sky Blues come into this game on the back of a narrow 2-1 home win over 15th-ranked Swansea City. Prior to that, they bagged their first away win in three matches, with an emphatic 4-0 result at West Ham United.
Team news
Simon Francis (hamstring strain), Adam Smith (knock) and Callum Wilson (ACL) are all out injured for the home side, while Charlie Daniels (thigh) is a doubt.
Meanwhile, Ilkay Gundogan (knee injury) is still missing for the visitors.
