Following on from the Champions Hurdle is another race with a clear contender in the form of Apple`s Jade. Always in the top two in her 14 career starts so far, she has shown a level of form and consistency synonymous with champion horses. She has already claimed some decent Grade 1 scalps this term having seen off Supersundae and Nichols Canyon and she seem to be going from strength to strength. A winner here last year, it is hard to see her not repeating that feat again in 2018. She arrives in top form having won five races in a row and the ground is unlikely to hinder her.
Away from the odds on favourites, La Bague au Roi catches the eye. She jumps well and has won her last four in preparation for this. While she might not have enough to overcome the favourite, she looks all set to land a place. An each-wat could be worthwhile with prices of 15/2 available.
