The third race of the day promises to be a competitive one with several horse in genuine contention. Nick Williams has been training Coo Star Sivola with this race in mind and he should head off as favourite from a decent handicap. He has plenty of course experience having competed in some testing novices chases this term and the step up in distance have proved to be a positive one.
With a strong pace on heavy ground expected, this race will suit tough battlers such as Vintage Clouds. He was in contention going into the second last in the race last year before his jumping let him down. That experience could be vital as he heads into this race with the going much more in his favour. Whats more, he arrives here on the back of a strong season which included a spritely second to Clan Des Obeaux at Haydock and a fourth in the Welsh National suggesting his jumping is right on point. With prices of 9/1 available, he starts to look very appealing.
David Pipe will be hoping that Ramses de Teillee can give him a third-straight win in this race and a fourth since 2008. He is jumping well for a novice and seems to favour the heavy ground. His lack of experience will put some off but at 12/1, he will be picked up by some each-way punters.
