This race has developed a reputation for being one of the most open and competitive of the festival. That is great in terms of race action, but can make picking a winner a real task.
Ruby Walsh will look to bounce back from his fall yesterday by guiding Uradel safely over the fences. He won on Bleu Berry last year, but - in what might be a significant move - chose not to renew that partnership for this race. Instead, the 2018 winner will be ridden by David Mullins.
Tully East has form over this course and could appreciate the step up in distance. His handicap mark alone makes him a dangerous prospect. Lpooks like a smart choice in the each-way market at 25/1.
Vision Des Flos has been progressing nicely since coming home sixth in the Ballymore a year ago. Produced his best yet winning a Grade 2 at Fontwell last time out and could get amongst the action with further improvement here. The ground should not bother him either and with prices as high as 16/1 available, he should be another one on the shortlist for each-way bets.
