Sunderland vs Swansea- Premier League preview and odds
May 13, 2017 15:00pm - Stadium of Light
Premier League
Despite being already relegated, Sunderland can still have a say in who goes down with them, with opponents Swansea City currently just appoint form safety.
Swansea on a knife edge
Sunderland fans will get to watch Premier League football for one last time this weekend as their side says farewell to top flight football for the foreseeable future. However, after beating Hull City away from home last week, David Moyes men have already changed the complexion of the ongoing relegation battle, giving Swansea City a helping hand in the process. The Black Cats can influence the situation further when they face the relegation battlers at the Stadium of Light this weekend.
The Mackems are winless in nine matches on home soil with four draws and five defeats recorded since they beat Watford 1-0 back in December.
Meanwhile, Swansea City would have been grateful for Sunderland`s contribution to their cause last week but will be hoping that they revert back to type this weekend. As Hull found out, facing an opponent who has nothing to play for can sometimes be dangerous as all the pressure falls on the team for which the result matters most.
The Swans gave themselves a massive boost by beating Everton last week, a result that lifted them out of the drop zone. However, they have not been so sharp away from home with six defeats in a seven-game winless run.
