Premier League preview and odds: AFC Bournemouth vs Leicester City

December 13, 2016 19:45pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

Twelfth-ranked AFC Bournemouth will look to claim their fourth home win in seven matches when they welcome reigning champions Leicester City to the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night.

Bournemouth happy at home

Bournemouth may be twelfth in the Premier League table but on home soil only seven teams have a better record. Eddie Howes’s men have picked up 13 of their 18 points at the Vitality Stadium and have lost just one of their last six.

The Cherries come into this game on the back of a trio of high-scoring matches including a 3-2 defeat to Burnley last time out. Prior to that, they beat Liverpool 4-3 at home at lost 3-1 away to Arsenal. A win on Tuesday night could lift the South Coast team to eighth in the table ahead of tomorrow night’s fixtures.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will come into this game on the back of a confidence-boosting weekend in which they beat title contenders Manchester City 4-2 at the King Power Stadium.

The reigning champions still have a great record at home in the league (one defeat in 23) but have struggled on the road (zero wins in nine). They have lost six of their last seven away games and are currently residing in 14th place in the table. A win on Tuesday could see them rise to 11th place (temporarily at least).

Team news

The home side will continue without the services of Junior Stanislas (ankle), Andrew Surman (hamstring) and Lewis Cook (ankle).

Meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri is waiting on news of Danny Drinkwater and Kasper Schmeichel`s fitness but will definitely be without the suspended Danny Simpson.

Recent form (League):

AFC Bournemouth: LWLWL

Leicester City: LLDLL

Betting odds and tips

Bournemouth have earned 72% of their points on home soil and have been beaten once at the Vitality Stadium since the opening day of the season.

Leicester City have scored and conceded at least one goal in each of their last seven matches. All but three of their matches have produced more than 2.5 goals including their last five in a row.

The Foxes have been poor away from home but have scored in all but one of their last 16 road trips. Bournemouth have been involved in some recent goal-fests so this game could be a bright contender in the BTTS and Over 2.5 markets.

You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 3/4 and Both Teams to Score at 8/13 - both with Bet365.
