Premier League preview and odds: Everton vs Arsenal

December 13, 2016 19:45pm - Goodison Park

Premier League

Ninth-ranked Everton are finding Premier League wins hard to come and must now go up against an Arsenal side who are unbeaten in their last 14 matches. The action takes place at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.

One win in 10 for Everton

A run of 10 matches featuring just a single win has seen Everton drop from second place in the table after five games to their current position in ninth. Any early positivity since the arrival of a billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri and former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has now evaporated and Everton fans are growing increasingly restless.

Last time out, the Toffees slumped to their fifth defeat of the season when they fell 3-2 away to Watford. On home soil, they have fared much better and are still unbeaten at Goodison Park, having won three and drawn four.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will come into this game on the back of a 14-game unbeaten streak featuring 10 wins and four draws. They have won their last three games in a row, scoring 11 goals in the process. Top scorer Alexis Sanchez now has 11 goals to his name, just one behind Chelsea`s Diego Costa.

Arsene Wenger`s men can draw level on points with league leaders Chelsea on Tuesday night, although their rivals will have a game in hand (away to Sunderland the following night). Away from home, the Gunners remain unbeaten and have won five of their last six, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Team news

The home side will continue without the services of Yannick Bolasie (knee), Arouna Koune (knee) and Muhamed Besic (knee), while Matthew Pennington remains a doubt.

Meanwhile, the visitors are still without the injured group of Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Mathieu Debuchy, (hamstring), Santi Cazorla (Achilles), Per Mertesacker (knee), chuba akpom (back) and Danny Welbeck (muscle).

Arsenal: LLDLL

Betting odds and tips

Everton are unbeaten at home and have scored in all their matches at Goodison Park. Arsenal are unbeaten away and have scored in all but one of their seven road trips including their last six in a row.

Arsenals` strong form should see Everton`s unbeaten home record come to an end but both teams can be expected to get on the score sheet.
