Premier League
Liverpool will looking to draw level on points with top-four chasers Manchester United when the teams meet at Anfield in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool still facing set-piece conundrum
The complexion of this derby had changed somewhat over the last few years with both sides now struggling to maintain their status as top-four teams. While Liverpool have grown accustomed to life outside of the elite, Manchester United are still fighting to hang on to their place at the top table of English football. Sundays game could go a long way towards shaping the remainder of the season for either side.
A victory would pull the home side level on points with their rivals and could give then a massive psychological boost going into the final months of the season. The Reds come into this game on the back of a 3-3 draw against Arsenal, which once again highlighted their weakness at defending set-pieces. On the plus side, they scored three goals and welcomed Jordan Henderson and Mamadou Sakho back from injury.
United trying to avoid talk of crisis
There is no doubt that all is not well at Manchester United. The discontent amongst the fans has been audible, and the ill-feeling between the Coach and the press has been equally palpable. However, a win against their old adversaries could go a long way towards getting their season back on track.
The Red Devils come into this game on the back of 3-3 draw away to Newcastle, during which they adopted a more attacking approach to the game - a trait that the fans will be hoping is carried forward into the game at Anfield.
Team news
Klopp`s injury problems are easing slightly but he will still have to manage without Divock Origi, Dejan Lovren and Martyn Skrtel, while Daniel Sturridge could be in line for a surprise return.
Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal will be without Bastian Schweinsteiger, Phil Jones and Nick Powell.
