Punters looking for a banker in the very first race have already been drawn to Min. The Willie Mullins-trained horse is the early favourite in the betting market, and stands a great chance of landing a fourth straight win for the Irish trainer in this event - especially if the going is good.

The French import looks to be improving all the time and has been tagged as the standout runner in the festival curtain-raiser. But has he got what it takes?

Nicky Henderson has not had a winner in this race for 23 years but has a couple of good entries in Altior and Buveur D`Air. The latter in particular could offer great value at a starting price of around 6/1.

Betting odds and tips

Min is expected to start at around 15/4 which is quite a short price for a horse that has great potential but is hardly proven. Altior and Buveur D`Air are also very talented and are expected to show well in this race.

Of those two, it is perhaps Buveur D`Air from the Henderson stable that offers the best value at 6/1 with Bet365.
