La Liga preview and odds: Malaga vs Athletic Club
April 17, 2016 12:00pm - Estadio La Rosaleda
Malaga will look to extend their unbeaten run to six games on Sunday when they welcome European hopefuls Athletic Club de Bilbao to Estadio La Rosaleda in La Liga.
Malaga look on course for top 10 finish
After recovering from a shaky start to their season Malaga have done enough to secure their safety and now look on course for a top 10 finish.
They have lost just three of their last 12 home matches, having won six and drawn the other three. They come into this match on the back of back-to-back draws away to Granada (0-0) and at home to Espanyol (1-1).
Seven of their last nine games have finished with fewer than 2.5 goals.
Athletic Club in Euro mix again
A run of seven games with just one defeat has lifted Athletic Club back into La Liga`s top six with just six games left to play. The Basque Country club are three points ahead of Sevilla and just a point behind Celta de Vigo as the three teams the battle for just two European places.
In their last away game, Los Leones were beaten 2-1 by Espanyol. They followed that up with a 0-0 draw against Granada and a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, both on home soil. They have not drawn a league game away from home since October.
Team news
The home side will have to cope without the services of Juan Carlos, Arthur Boka and Carlos Kameni.
Meanwhile, the visitors have injured concerns of their own with Eraso, Sabin, Aymeric Laporte and Ibai all out of action.
