Crystal Palace vs Manchester City - Premier League Preview and Odds
April 14, 2019 14:05pm - Selhurst Park (London)
Premier League
Manchester City can return to the top of the Premier League, for a couple of hours at least, with a win over 13th-ranked Crystal Palace.
Pep Guardiola`s men travel south to London with their Premier League fate still in their own hands. If they win all their remaining games, they will retain their domestic league title. However, they are facing one of only four teams to have beaten them in the league this term.
City have won their last eight league matches in a row but arrive here on the back of a 1-0 Champions League first-leg defeat to fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. In their last five league games, they have conceded just a single goal.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace can break the 40-point barrier by avoiding defeat this weekend. Roy Hodgson`s men won three of their last five matches and look all set to retain their top-flight status. A win here would put a seal on that.
The Eagles have avoided defeat in their last two meetings with the Sky Blues, winning 3-2 at the Etihad back in December and drawing 0-0 in the last clash at Selhurst Park. If Roy Hodgson can engineer another such outcome here, he could hand the title advantage back to former club Liverpool.
A win would lift the Londoners to a respectable 11th place in the table while a draw would keep them where they are. Hodgson will be keen to beat last season`s point`s tally of 44 to show he has taken the team forward over the last 12 months.

Betting odds and tips
Palace rocked City back in December and will look to keep things tight on home soil. The onus will be on City to break them down and if they can do that early, the hosts could crumble. That is easier said than done, however, and Hodgson`s men will not make it easy. Combine that with some nerves amongst the City players and we could see a tight first hour with City eventually finding the breakthrough to relieve the pressure. The Away Win with Under 2.5 Goals looks tempting at a price of 11/4.
You can back the Away Win with Under 2.5 Goals at 11/4.
