La Liga preview and odds: Real Betis vs Getafe
May 15, 2016 19:30pm - Estadio Benito VillamarÃn
La Liga
Getafe will be looking to maintain their position outside of the drop zone when they travel to Seville to face 14th-ranked Real Betis on Sunday evening.
A win will guarantee safety for Getafe
Of the three teams that are battling for the final survival place in La Liga, Getafe are the only one who can control their own destiny. The equation is simple for the Madrid club: win their final league game of the season and they will remain in the Spanish top flight.
Of course the task will not be easy, as Juan Esnáider`s men must travel to Seville to face a Real Betis side who have lost just two of their last nine home games (against Malaga and Barcelona).
The Azulones are unbeaten in four and have won their last two away games (at Real Sociedad and Deportivo La Coruna). Prior to that pair of wins, they had lost seven away games in a row and had failed to score in the last six.
Real Betis aiming for mid-table finish
With safety secured, Real Betis have little left to play for but league position. The team from Seville have an outside chance of finishing 10th in the table depending on how other results pan out.
They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Eibar. On home soil, they have lost just two of their last nine games, the most recent of which was the 2-0 defeat to Barcelona two weeks ago.
Team news
Adan and Alvaro Cejudo are both suspended for the home side, who will also be without the injured group of Bruno Gonzalez, Fabian Ruiz, Foued Kadir, Didier Digard, Juan Vargas, Cristiano Piccini.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the services of the suspended Carlos Vigaray and the injured Victor Rodriguez and Roberto Lago.
