Champions League preview and odds: Atletico Madrid vs PSV
March 15, 2016 20:45pm - Estadio Vicente Calderon
Champions League
Atletico Madrid have the upper hand going into the second leg of this Champions League round of 16 clash, after securing a draw away to PSV in the first encounter.
Atletico on top
The score-line may be level, but Atletico Madrid will be favourites to finish the job on home soil after holding their opponents to a 0-0 draw in the first leg.
Diego Simeone`s men are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions, and have lost just one of their last 16 games at home. They come into this match on the back of a 3-0 home win against Deportivo La Coruna in La Liga, in which they recorded their fourth straight win and third consecutive clean sheet at Estadio Vicente Calderon.
PSV hoping to grab away goal
PSV failed to make a breakthrough in the home leg of this tie but will take consolation from the fact that they did not concede a goal. If they can grab an away goal on Tuesday night, they may just stand a chance of progressing to the quarter-final stage.
The Dutch side are unbeaten in their last 11 competitive away matches, although they failed to win any of their away games in the Group stages of this competition. They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 league draw at home to Heerenveen.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured duo of Stefan Savic and Tiago. Meanwhile, Gaston Pereiro is suspended for the visitors who will also be without the injured Simon Poulsen.
