La Liga preview and odds: Real Sociedad vs. Atletico Madrid
October 18, 2015 16:00pm - Estadio Municipal de Anoeta
La Liga
David Moyes will need to use all of his managerial experience to overcome this weekend`s opponents as Real Sociedad welcome Atletico Madrid to the Anoeta Stadium.
Stuttering start in first full season for Moyes
It has not been a great to start to season No. 2 in La Liga for British Coach David Moyes. After guiding his team to a comfortable mid-table finish last season, it was hoped that he could push the team on to the next level and challenge for the European places.
However, with seven games already played, Real Sociedad have just one victory to their name and are currently languishing in sixteenth place, just two points above bottom-ranked Granada.
After winning in Granada and then drawing at home to Athletic Club in the Basque derby, things were looking up for Moyes. But a limp display last time out against Malaga has conjured up further murmurs of discontent on the streets of San Sebastian. A win against title contenders Atleti would certainly help the Scotsmans cause.
Atleti favourites to prevail
Atletico started the season with four wins out of five but have picked up just one point from their last two games. However, those games were against league leaders Villarreal and city rivals Real Madrid. This weekend, they will be expected to overcome a Real Sociedad team that has shown little in the way of quality in recent weeks.
Diego Simeones side are currently in 5th place and could move back into the top four with a win in the Basque Country.
Team news
The Basque`s could be boosted by the return of Inigo Martinez, Carlos Vela, Bruma and Diego Reyes but Raul Navas remains on the side-lines.
Meanwhile, Los Colchoneros will be without recent arrival Luciano Vietto.

Betting odds and tips
Real Sociedad will need to be at their very best and may also need a little bit of luck if they are to claim all three points at the weekend. The form of Agirretxe, who has scored five goals already this season, will be vital.
Atletico have a good historical record against La Real but were beaten on their last visit to the Anoeta by two goals to one. That was the home side`s second league win in the last 10 meetings between the two sides. The away win can be backed at 11/10 with Betfred and Imanol Agirretxe can be backed to score anytime at 15/2 with Bet365.
