Netherlands vs France - UEFA Nations League Preview and Odds
November 16, 2018 19:45pm - Stadion Feijenoord
UEFA Nations League
Following their World Cup absence, Netherlands have shown steady signs of improvement. They beat Peru and Germany either side of a 2-1 defeat to world champions France before drawing 1-1 against World Cup semi-finalists Belgium.
The Oranje are now coached by former Southampton and Everton boss Ronald Koeman who has injected some much needed confidence back into the side. Drawn in a Nations League Group 1 alongside Germany and France they were expected to finish third in the group but are currently second, two points ahead of Germany having played one less game. Victory here would move them to within a point of France with a game in hand.
The 3-0 won over Germany shocked many and demonstrated the Dutch are no pushovers. And having pushed France close in Paris in September, there is reason to believe they could pull off another surprise here. They look good going forward and have only conceded three goals in their last seven home matches. They won six of those game, their only negative a 0-1 defeat to England.
France have avoided a World Cup hangover by remaining unbeaten in their last four matches. They began their Nations League campaign with a 0-0 draw in Germany before beating Germany and Netherlands, and drawing with Iceland on home soil. However, they have not totally dominated games and have looked vulnerable at the back, conceding four in their last three.
