Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs Manchester United
December 17, 2016 17:30pm - The Hawthorns
Referee: A. Taylor
Premier League
In-form West Bromwich Albion will look to close the gap on opponents Manchester United when the two sides meet at the Hawthorns on Saturday. The visitors themselves can extend their unbeaten run to eight games by avoiding defeat.
One defeat in six for Baggies
Only league leaders Chelsea have gotten the better of West Bromwich Albion in their last six Premier League fixtures. As a result, the Baggies have risen to seventh place in the league table.
Tony Pulis` men will be looking for a fourth-straight home win on Saturday evening when they take on the 20-time former champions. Last time out, they cruised to a 3-1 win over relegation candidates Swansea City. In their home games prior to that, they put three goals past Watford and four past Burnley.
The West Midlands side are just one place behind their opponents and can close the gap to a single point with victory at the weekend. If they can achieve that, a push for European qualification could be on the cards.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are enjoying a revival of their own, having lost just one of their last 11 Premier League matches. Their progress had been previously hindered by a high percent of draws but they come into this game on the back of consecutive wins at home to Tottenham Hotspur (1-0) and away to Crystal Palace (1-2).
Away from home, Jose Mourinho`s men are unbeaten in three, having won away to Swansea and drawn at Everton ahead of the win at Palace.
Key stats
- West Bromwich Albion have won their last three home matches in a row.
- Manchester United are unbeaten in seven Premier League matches.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to cope without the services of Eric Bailly (knee), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (knock), Luke Shaw (leg), Chris Smalling (foot) and James Wilson (ACL).
