La Liga preview and odds: Eibar vs Granada
January 18, 2016 19:30pm - Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa
La Liga
Eibar will continue their unlikely quest for European football when they welcome perennial La Liga strugglers Granada to Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa on Monday night.
Eibar not yet daring to dream
A three-game winning streak has put La Liga minnows Eibar right back in the race for European qualification. With half the season gone, the Basque Country club are in seventh place in the league just four points behind fifth-ranked Celta de Vigo.
In their last game, they edged past Espanyol (2-1) to record their eighth win of the season and their third in a row. In contrast, they only won nine games in the whole of last term. In the same game, on-loan striker Borja Baston was once again on target to claim his tenth goal of the campaign.
Granada look set for relegation battle
Granada will need to put together a good run of games if they to avoid another relegation battle this term. They are currently residing outside of the drop zone in 17th place, but are just three points above bottom-ranked Levante.
In their last game, El Graná conceded four goals for the second away game in a row, when they were beaten 4-0 by league favourites Barcelona. They now face another difficult trip north to the Basque region of Spain. No player in the Granada team has scored more than four league goals this season, and only Rayo Vallecano have conceded more goals that the Andalucians.
Team news
Eibar will be without the suspended Aleksander Pantic and the injured duo of Mikel Arruabarrena and Jaime.
Granada Coach Jose Ramon Sandoval will have to cope without Ruben Rochina who is suspended for this game.
