Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle Preview
March 18, 2016 14:50pm - Cheltenham
Cheltenham Festival
Punters will need to find a good reason not to back the Ben Pauling-trained Barters Hill in this race. Despite the odd mistake, he just keeps on winning and has shown plenty of strength and character in recent outings. The question remains as to whether he has reached his limit yet, and this race will provide the answers.
Taking him on will be the Neil Mulholland-trained Shantou Village. He has yet to run this distance but has previously won over 21f, so this will not be a big jump up. He also has Cheltenham experience and finished a creditable second to Yanworth in his most recent outing.
Willie Mullins will be represented by Gangster who has won at this distance but on heavier ground. He has plenty of staying power and has shown form on firmer ground at lower grades. He is certainly one to look out for and would be worth an Each-way bet if the price was right.
