Amateurs and professionals ride side-by-side over the Gold Cup course and distance in this wind-down from the main event.

All eyes will be on former Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton who has earned a festival ride after a season in the saddle. She will mount the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding Pacha Du Polder, who she rode to victory in Wincanton back in February.

Paint The Clouds came in third on softer ground last year and could perform better this time round. The Warren Greatrex-trained 11-year-old has the staying power and romped home at Doncaster last time out.

The conditions should suit Paint The Clouds, who could well improve on last year`s third-place finish.
