Friday kicks off with the Grade 1 JCB Triumph Hurdle with the Nicky Henderson-trained Charli Parcs expected to shine over the two mile course.
The French import won easily at Kempton on his UK debut at Christmas, claiming eight lengths over Master Blueyes. He returned to the course for the Cheltenham trial last month and looked to be on course for a second win when he fell at the second last.
The gelding can be expected to bounce from that mishap on what should be much more suitable conditions. Henderson has won six previous Triumphs and along with jockey Noel Fehily will be looking to embellish what has already been a strong week for the duo.
Defi Du Seuil shares the same owner as Charli Parcs (JP McManus) but is trained by PJ Hobbs. The gelding come here unbeaten in five starts and should be a contender. However, the ground will be much quicker than he has been used to previously. While some feel that this could actually benefit the juvenile, more cautious punters may be put off by such unknown factors.
