AFC Bournemouth vs Watford - Premier League Preview and Odds

August 19, 2017 15:00pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

AFC Bournemouth will go in search of their first point of the season when they take on Watford at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The visitors themselves will be looking to add to the point they picked up following their entertaining 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool on the opening day.

Eddie Howe`s men started their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion - the side that finished just one place below them in the table last term. They will now test themselves at home to the team that finished eight places below them in 17th.

The Cherries were patching at home last season and that continued in pre-season with no wins from the three friendlies matches they played at the Vitality. However, that sequence did included a 2-2 draw with Napoli. With several players out injured, the South Coast side will be hoping that their new signings can make an impact this weekend. Worryingly, they have conceded at least two goals in eight of their last 11 home games.

Meanwhile, Watford began life under Marcos Silva with an impressive 3-3 draw at home to Jurgen Klopp`s Liverpool to secure their first point in seven Premier League matches. Their overall home record makes decent reading with just four defeats in their last 16 in all competitions but away from home, they have won just two of their last 19 - a statistic that Silva will be keen to improve. What`s more, the Hornets have conceded at least one goal in each their last 14 away matches, shipping two or more in 10 of them.

Betting odds and tips

Both sides have defensive issues so clean sheets should not be expected here. As a result, the Both Teams to Score bet could be worth taking.

For better odds, a smaller stake on the Draw/Both Teams to Score should be considered at 10/3.

You can back Both Teams to Score at 7/10 and the Draw/Both Teams to Score at 10/3 - both with Bet365.
