Liverpool vs Crystal Palace - Premier League Preview and Odds
August 19, 2017 15:00pm - Anfield
Premier League
Liverpool started their Premier League campaign with an all too familiar stumble against lesser opposition, drawing 3-3 away to Watford ast weekend. Next up for the Reds is a home clash against a Crystal Palace side who were shocked 3-0 at home by newcomers Huddersfield Town on the opening day.
The once unpredictable nature of Jurgen Klopp`s team seems to have become perfectly predictable. The Reds should have won their opening day clash but defensive issues from set-pieces once again prevented them from taking all three points fron Vicarage Road.
They followed up that game with a much more impressive display in Tuesday`s Champions League win in Hoffenheim and will be hoping to carry that form into the weekend. Despite the positive result in Germany, there were a couple of wobbly moments and they had Simon Mignolet to thank for saving a first half penalty.
The Anfield side recorded four consecutive clean sheets at the end of last term and will be hoping for a return to that kind of stability in the back line. However, plenty of teams from outside of the top six got on the scoresheet when visiting Merseyside during the last campaign so a win to nil looks like a risky option here.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace looked out of sorts in their opener at home to newly-promoted Huddersfield and will need to up their game to avoid a big defeat here. They ended last season well but they might take some time to adjust to a new coach and style of playing this term. As a result, a repeat of last year`s 2-1 win seems unlikely.

Betting odds and tips
The absence of Coutinho and Lallana will hamper Liverpool again but they should have enough to cope with a Crystal Palace side still finding their way under Frank de Boer. The home win offers little value but Over 2.5 Goals looks well-priced at 4/7.
You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 4/7 with Bet365 or Liverpool/Over 2.5 Goals at a best price of 19/20.
