Premier League preview and odds: Newcastle United vs. Leicester City
November 21, 2015 15:00pm - St. James Park
Premier League
After clawing their way out of the relegation basement, Newcastle United now face a home clash against unlikely title contenders Leicester City in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
Seven points in last four games for the Toon
After a disastrous start to the season, Newcastle United have finally lifted themselves out of the bottom three and are now just one point behind Jose Mourinhos Chelsea in 17th place. A win this weekend could elevate them even further up the table as their quest for survival continues.
Steve McClarens men did not play well at Bournemouth in the last game but that fact will be of little concern as they somehow managed to come away with all three points. They will now go in search of their second home win of the season against one of the toughest teams in the league. They will be boosted by the fact that they are unbeaten in three at home having drawn against Stoke and Chelsea either side of a win over Norwich.
Leicester in top form
Leicester are the Premier Leagues in-form team. They have won three games on the bounce, are unbeaten in five and have been defeated just once all season. In addition, they also have the leagues leading goal scorer, Jamie Vardy, spear-heading their attack, with Riyad Mahrez offering impressive support.
Like Chelseas slump, the Foxes elevated league position can no longer be attributed to luck or freak results. They are where they are thanks to hard work, good management and talented players. You cannot bluff your way to third place in the league after 12 games without possessing a special formula, and right now Claudio Ranieri and Leicester are performing footballing alchemy.
The East Midlands side come into this game on the back of a 2-1 home win over a tough-to-beat Watford side that have also defied the odds this season. Their only defeat came at the hands of Arsenal back in September - however it took a sublime performance from Wengers men to earn a 5-2 win.
Team news
Newcastle continue to juggle an ever-changing roster of injured players with six names still on the long-term absence list. However, the recently injured trio of Gabriel Obertan, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliott are all expected to be available this weekend.
Meanwhile, Jamie Vardy is expected to start for the visitors despite suffering a hip injury in the last game.

Betting odds and tips
Leicester City are unbeaten away from home this term and Newcastle have shown little to suggest that they will be the team to break that run. The visitors have won four out of their last five games and are coming into this game full of confidence. You can back the Foxes to win at 6/4 with Bet365.
Claudio Ranieris men lead the way in the Both Teams to Score market. So far this season 100% of their away games have produced this result. You can get 8/15 from Bet365 for both sides to find the net this weekend.
If you fancy Jamie Vardy to score for the 10th straight game, William Hill will give you a tasty price of 23/10.
