La Liga preview and odds: Deportivo De La Coruna vs Deportivo Alaves
Feb 18, 2017 17:30pm - Estadio Municipal de Riazor
La Liga
Deportivo De La Coruna will look to break a five-game winless streak when they welcome Copa del Rey finalists Deportivo Alaves to the Riazor on Saturday afternoon. The visitors themselves will be hoping to bounce back from last week`s 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona.
Depor facing relegation battle
A run of five games without a win has left Deportivo De La Coruna just three points above the relegation zone heading into this weekend`s game. However, the Galician side have been decent at home in recent weeks, having won two and drawn one since being narrowly beaten by Sevilla back in November.
Gaizka Garitano`s men have lost just one of their last six on home soil, and a continuation of that form would certainly help them in their quest to avoid the drop.
Meanwhile, opponents Alaves will be looking to put last week`s defeat to Barcelona behind them as they continue their own quest to consolidate their La Liga status for another season.
Mauricio Pelligrino`s men are currently sitting in a respectable 12th place in the table, 11 points clear of the drop zone and with a major final to look forward to. The Argentinean made several changes for the game against Barca last week, so that result perhaps gave a false reflection of their current form.
In total, the Babazorros have lost just two of their last 10 La Liga matches including the defeat to the Catalan side. Away from home, they have lost just one of the last six and cruised to a 4-2 win in Gijon on their last road trip.
Team news
The home side will have to make do without the injured trio of Bruno Gama, Davy Roef and Marlos Moreno.
Meanwhile, Edgar Mendez (hamstring strain) and Einar Galilea are both out of action for the visitors..

Betting odds and tips
Six of Alaves`s away games have finished 0-0 at the break and that statistic offers some insight into their tactics on the road. The Basque Country side tend to keep things tight on their travels, while grinding their way to vital points. A similar performance can be expected this weekend.
