April 20 , 2016 20:00pm - Anfield
Premier League
Liverpool will continue their quest for European football when they take on their neighbours and rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.
Reds in good form ahead of derby
Liverpool are enjoying a good run of form, having lost just one of their last eight matches in all competitions. As a result, they have progressed to the Europa League semi-final and still have a chance of making it into the top five of the Premier League.
In their last match, a much-changed Reds side edged to a 2-1 victory away to Bournemouth in the league. Prior to that, they prevailed 4-3 in a dramatic Europa League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.
The Anfield club have lost just one of their last nine home matches in the league with the only defeat coming against Manchester United back in January.
Everton better away from home
Everton have a had a disappointing league campaign, and come into this game on the back of a six-game winless run. However, they do have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to this weekend.
The Toffees are currently occupying 11th spot in the league with a total of 41 points. Their lowly league position can be attributed to their poor home form, which is the second-worst in the league behind relegated Aston Villa.
Away from home, they have lost just twice all season, having won five and drawn the other nine. In their last match, they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured group of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Joe Gomez, while Jordan Rossiter is doubtful.
Meanwhile, Everton will continue without Phil Jagielka, Tyias Browning and Tony Hibbert.
