Premier League preview and odds: Swansea City vs. AFC Bournemouth

November 21, 2015 15:00pm - Liberty Stadium

Premier League

Two of the Premier League current strugglers will battle it out on Saturday as Swansea City welcome AFC Bournemouth to the Liberty Stadium in the Barclays Premier League.

No home win in four for Swansea

Swansea have an opportunity to grab their first home win in four matches when serial losers Bournemouth visit South Wales on Saturday. Since beating Manchester United back in August, Garry Monk’s team have drawn two and lost two on home soil.

In total, the Swans have won just one game in their last eight, with their only victory coming away to bottom club Aston Villa. In their last game they fell by a single goal away to Norwich, a result that prompted more speculation about the coach’s future.

Swansea have failed to score in three of their last four home games and have not kept a clean sheet in their last six Premier League matches.

Bournemouth hoping to break losing habit

Bournemouth have lost four Premier League games in a row with a record of two goals for and 13 against. They have also lost their last four away games having scored three and conceded 12. Their last win came against struggling Sunderland back in September. Over the last five games, the Cherries have the worst form in the league.

In their last fixture, they were desperately unlucky to lose at home to Newcastle after completely dominating the game. Despite having numerous chances, they failed to find the net and were undone by a goal from Toon striker Ayoze Perez. Bournemouth had 67% of possession, won 16 corners and had 14 shots on goal while Newcastle scored from their only shot and failed to win a single corner. Away from home, the Cherries have conceded at least two goals in their last five away games

Team news

Swansea are in the fortunate position of having a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Meanwhile, Marc Pugh has recovered from a knock and should be available for Bournemouth. However, Eddie Howe is still without Christian Atsu, Callum Wilson, Tommy Elphick, Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings.

AFC Bournemouth: LLLLD

Betting odds and tips

Only three players have scored in the league for Swansea this season and one of those (Gomis) has not struck since August. If Swansea are going to win this game then top scorer Andre Ayew will be favourite to get on the score sheet. He can be backed to find the net anytime at 11/5 with Unibet.

When Swansea have scored at home this season, they have always netted twice, while the Cherries have scored a single goal in half of their away games. You can back a correct score of 2-1 at 8/1 with Bet365.
