Premier League preview and odds: Everton vs Swansea City

November 19, 2016 15:00pm - Goodison Park

Premier League

Seventh-ranked Everton will be looking to bounce back from the 5-0 drubbing they received away to Chelsea when they take on struggling Swansea City at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

One win in six for Everton

A run of just one win in their last six games has left Everton exactly eight points adrift of the league leaders and eight points clear of the drop zone. After a promising start to the season, the Toffees now seem destined for another mediocre season battling for the mid-table positions.

The Merseyside club have had two weeks to dwell on what went wrong in their 5-0 defeat at Chelsea, and will now try to make amends against the league`s worst-form team. The good news for Everton fans, is that they have yet to lose a home game on home soil this term, having won three and drawn two at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, visitors Swansea City are still looking for their first win under new coach Bob Bradley. The American boss has so far presided over three defeats and one draw since arriving in South Wales. No team has a worst record over the last eight games than the Swans.

The Welsh club`s only win this season came away from on the opening day of the season at newly-promoted Burnley. Since then, they have lost four in a row on the road but they have managed to score at least one goal in all but one of their away games.

Team news

The home side could welcome back James McCarthy (hamstring) and Leighton Baines (hamstring) from injury. However, Arouna Kone (knee), Muhamed Besic (ACL) and Matthew Pennington will all miss out.

Meanwhile, the visitors will hand a late fitness test to Jefferson Montero who remains the only doubt for Bob Bradley.

Recent form (League):

Everton: LWLDD

Swansea City: LLDLL

Betting odds and tips

Everton have scored at least once in all of their home matches, while Swansea have scored in all but one of their away fixtures.

With no wins in 10, there is little to be positive about for the visitors but if they can get on the score sheet once again, they may just have a chance against an Everton side that is lacking in confidence.
