Premier League preview and odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United
November 19, 2016 15:00pm - White Hart Lane
Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur will look to break a four-game drawing streak and keep themselves in contention for the title race when they face an unpredictable West Ham side at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs keen to break drawing habit
A 1-1 stalemate away to North London rivals Arsenal last time out made it four draws on the spin for Tottenham Hotspur. As a result, they have fallen to fifth place in the Premier League table, five points behind league leaders Liverpool. On the bright side, the Londoners remain the only club yet to have been beaten in the league.
On home soil, Spurs have won three and drawn two of the five games they have played, conceding just two goals in the process. Their last home fixture was a 1-1 draw against reigning champions Leicester City.
Mauricio Pochettino may be concerned that his side has now gone seven games without a win in all competitions, having drawn five and lost two. However, their only defetas have come in the Champions League and the League Cup.
Meanwhile, West Ham United are just one point clear of the relegation zone and could do with another win to relieve some of the pressure on boss Slaven Bilic. Despite their lowly position, the Hammers have shown signs of improvement, having lost just one of their last five games (a 0-2 defeat at Everton).
They come into this game on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City. Their only success on the road was a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace - all their other away games ended in defeat.
Team news
The home side will hand a late fitness test to Dele Alli, while Ben Davies (ankle), Erik Lamela (hip) and Toby Alderweireld (knee) are all on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, the visitors will continue without the injured group of Reece Oxford (ankle), Gokhan Tore (thigh), Sam Byram (hamstring), Arthur Masuaku (knee), Andy Carroll (knee) and Diafra Sakho (back).
