Championship preview and odds: Reading vs Blackburn Rovers
December 19, 2015 12:30pm - The Madjeski Stadium
Championship
With former boss Brain McDermott back at the helm for a second time, Reading will try to end a four-game winless streak on Sunday when they face in-form Blackburn Rovers at the Madjeski Stadium in the Championship.
Reading hoping to turn back the clock
After a poor run of results, Reading have turned to the man who last led them to the Premier League in an attempt to salvage their season. Brian McDermott now takes over a team that has won just one of their last 10 games (against struggling Bolton) and has slipped down to 13th in the table.
In their last match, they fell 2-1 away to promotion candidates Hull City to complete a quartet of straight defeats. However, they have been fairly strong on home soil having lost just one of their last six (QPR).
Blackburn unbeaten in eight
After failing to win any of their first seven games, Blackburn have gradually improved and are now on a run of eight games unbeaten. Last time out, they were held to a goalless draw at home to Nottingham forest and moved up to 11th place in the table. Prior to that, they bagged back-to-back wins against Rotherham and Bristol City.
Away from home, Rovers are unbeaten in four, having won three games including their last two on the bounce.
Team news
Reading are waiting on the fitness of midfielder Aaron Tshibola and defenders Andrew Taylor, Anton Ferdinand and Chris Gunter.
Meanwhile, Blackburn could welcome back Doneil Henry, who has been out with a hamstring injury.

Betting odds and tips
It`s always hard to predict what kind of an impact a new boss will have, but the return of Brian McDermott should certainly give everyone at Reading a boost. Despite that, they are facing a Blackburn side that are in great form. The Blackburn-Draw Double chance can be backed at 4/7 with Bet365.
