Champions League preview and odds: CSKA Moscow vs. Manchester United
October 21, 2015 19:45pm Arena Khimki
Champions League
CSKA Moscow and Manchester United will meet at Arena Khimki in Moscow on Wednesday night with both teams looking to build on victories in the last game week.
All to play for in Group B
With all four clubs level on points, there is still everything to play for in Group B. A win against group favourites Manchester United would put CSKA Moscow in a commanding position at the half way point in the group.
The Russian team have remained unbeaten in their three home games so far having beaten Sporting and drawn against Sparta Prague in the qualifying rounds, and defeated PSV in game week two of the group stage proper. Since they went down by a single goal away to Wolfsburg in game week one, they have won five out of six games in all competitions, drawing the other.
Last season they drew at home to Uniteds rivals Manchester City before beating them in the away game thanks to two goals from Seydou Doumbia.
United need a strong performance
Louis van Gaals team are sitting comfortably in third place in the Premier League table and are going into this game on the back of an impressive 3-0 win at Everton. However, they have lost three out of their last five away games in all competitions, including the defeat to PSV in game week one, and must now face a difficult trip to Moscow.
The last time the Red Devils visited the Arena Khimki, in 2009, they drew 3-3 after coming from two goals behind in the group stage of the tournament. In total, they have won just one of their last seven matches against Russian teams.
Team news
The home side are without Israeli midfielder Bibras Natcho who is out with a head injury, while veteran defender Vasili Berezutski is on the doubtful list.
United will be without Bastian Schweinsteiger (knee) and Ashley Young (calf) who are both in recovery, while Luke Shaw remains a long-term absentee after suffering a leg-break earlier in this campaign.

Betting odds and tips
CSKA have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 22 Champions League matches, so United will be disappointed if they do not grab at least one goal in Moscow. The Russians also scored in 17 of those games making them a good bet in the Both Teams to Score market.
You can back Both Teams to Score at 8/11 with Bet365 or if you fancy a draw, Titanbet are offering a very generous 15/2 for the scores to end level with both teams scoring a goal.
Ivorian striker Seydou Doumbia has scored five goals in his last six starts and can be backed at 11/5 to score anytime with Bet365.
