La Liga preview and odds: Celta de Vigo vs Eibar
February 20, 2016 21:05pm - Balaídos
La Liga
Celta will be out to break a four-game winless streak on Saturday when they welcome high-flying Eibar to the Balaidos in La Liga.
Celta boosted by Nolito return
After a blistering start to the season Celta de Vigo have slipped back down the rankings and currently occupy eighth place in La Liga. Their dip in form has coincided with the absence through injury of star player Nolito - however, the 29-year-old could make his return to the field this weekend.
In their last game, the Celtícos were hammered 6-1 away to league leaders Barcelona, prior to that, they were held 1-1 at home by Sevilla, who also knocked them out of the Copa del Rey at the semi-final stage last week.
Eibar continue to defy expectations
It now looks almost certain that Eibar will remain in the Primera Division for a third-straight season. The Basque Country minnows were handed a reprieve from relegation last summer and have taken full advantage this term. With 14 games left to play, the Armeros are residing in sixth place in the league table and stand a serious chance of qualifying for Europe.
In their last game, Mendilibar`s men broke a three-game losing streak by defeating bottom club Levante at home. Away from the Ipurua Municipal Stadium, they have lost four of their last five games, with a 4-0 win at Betis being the only exception.
Team news
The home side could welcome back Nolito, although he will be short of match fitness. However, Orellana is suspended for this clash and Fontas has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be without the suspended Dani Garcia, while Ekiza, Ramis, Luna, Jaime and Keko are all out injured.
