La Liga preview and odds: Granada vs Valencia
February 21, 2016 18:15pm - Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes
La Liga
Rock-bottom Granada will be looking for their first La Liga win in three matches on Saturday when they host a resurgent Valencia side at Los Cáremenes.
Three straight defeats for Granada
Granada have lost eight of their last 11 La Liga games - a run of results that has left them rock bottom in La Liga. Despite their lowly position, they are just two points away from safety and could even climb out of the bottom three with a win this weekend.
In their last game, Sandoval`s men were beaten 3-0 away to Real Sociedad and prior to that, they put in a good performance to restrict Real Madrid to a narrow 2-1 victory. Prior to the defeat against Madrid, they won two straight home games against Getafe (3-2)and Sevilla (2-1).
Valencia boosted by back-to-back
Valencia finally recorded their first league win under Gary Neville with a 2-1 victory over out-of-form Espanyol last week. They followed up that win with a 6-0 demolition of Rapid Vienna in the mid-week Europa League match.
After last weekend`s win over Espanyol, it was announced that former Valencia and Liverpool assistant, Paco Ayesteran, would be joining Neville`s back room staff.
Los Che have won just one of their last 10 away games in La Liga.
Team news
David Barral will be suspended for the home side, while Salva Ruiz will be missing through injury.
