La Liga preview and odds: Rayo Vallecano vs Sevilla
February 21, 2016 11:00am - Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas
La Liga
Rayo Vallecano will be out to extend their five-game unbeaten run on Sunday when they welcome a Sevilla side that are unbeaten in six but have not won an away game in La Liga all season.
In-form Rayo looking for first win in eight against Sevilla
After a poor run of six defeats in seven matches, Rayo Vallecano have put together a five-game unbeaten streak to pull themselves three points clear of the drop zone. They now sit in 15th place in the Primera Division table on a total of 24 points.
The Madrid side have lost their last six league encounters with Sevilla and have not beaten them in the last eight. They come into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw away to Sporting de Gijon. They won their last two home matches - against Celta de Vigo and Las Palmas - without conceding a goal.
Sevilla still without away win
Remarkably, for a side occupying fifth place in La Liga, Sevilla have yet to win a league game away from home this term - a record only matched by Las Palmas. In stark contrast, on home soil, only Barcelona have won more games than the Andalucians.
Of the 11 away games that Unai Emery`s men have played, they have drawn seven and lost four.
Last time out, they cruised to a 2-0 win at home to fellow poor travellers Las Palmas, and prior to that, they played out a 1-1 draw in Vigo. Los Rojiblancos will be buoyed by the fact that they have won all of their last six league clashes against Rayo.
Team news
Paco Jemez will be without the suspended Quini, while Javi Guerra, Raul Baena, Razvan Rat, Cobeño, Patrick Ebert and Toño could all be missing through injury.
Meanwhile, Steven N`Zonzi is suspended for the visitors, while Gregorz Krychowiak, Nicolas Pareja and Marco Andreolli are all injured.
